Senior Systems Engineer
I am one of the System Engineers here at ManagePoint. While I have been an IT professional for over 20 years now, I have actually been fascinated with electronics (and computers in particular) since I was a child. For me it started when I was 5 years old and I received my first computer as a gift (Texas Instruments TI-99/4A). It immediately drew me in, not just the video games it could play, but the fact that I could tell it what to put on the screen by writing programs for it. Granted my first programs at the age of 5 and 6 were very crude and only displayed basic text on the TV screen (with a lot of spelling errors), however it meant I was learning the fundamental building blocks of programs (such as for/next loops) at a very young age. By the time I was in high school I had figured out computer repair, networking, and programming in complex languages such as C++ and Assembly. That naturally expanded into a career in IT, building networks and writing custom software. I also found that I liked helping people, there was not only the reward in working on the technology itself, but also the appreciation one receives after fixing a problem for someone.
