About the Founder
David Steger: Founder and President
Where It All Started
Hello and welcome! I would love to tell you that I was born with a keyboard in one hand and a mouse in the other, but reality is that I did not even touch a computer until in high school some time ago in the 20th century. I was born and raised in Plymouth, Wisconsin along with my brothers Greg and Dan, by my parents Robert and Mary, now-retired owners of Steger Heating and Cooling. Older brother Greg took over the family business, changing the name to Greg Steger Comfort Crafters, and middle brother Dan is an architect in Boston, MA.
Venturing out into the world, I enrolled in St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, Minnesota and graduated in 1993 with a BA in Business Computer Information Systems. Landing my first job with a small computer consulting group, I dove with zeal into the world of technology. Starting out in helpdesk services, I quickly moved to PC support, server administration and then, network engineering. I did consulting for Wisconsin Electric Co., Modine, Ameritech\SBC and Snap-On Tools, to name a few.
Growing up in a small family business that now has passed down three generations, it seems natural that I would eventually get the entrepreneurial bug and start something of my own, too. Leaving a well-paying, secure position with a large, established company to pursue my passion, I stepped out in 2002, providing technology support services to small businesses in the Metro Milwaukee area. This was a market I felt was underserved and largely ignored by the larger IT services companies.
I love what I do, not just the geeky technological stuff, but the chance to provide a needed service at a good value without sacrificing excellence. I love my clients! I’m enthusiastic about their prosperity, and am bullish about our future as we build relationships with clients and partners to provide real value through solid technology solutions.
